Records mention woodland on this site as far back as 1300. However the present woods were largely created during the last 200 years as part of the ornamental gardens to the Georgian manor house built in 1792 and demolished in 1955. The woodland’s historical interest and rich diversity make it extremely valuable to the people of Telford.

All the woodland work is undertaken with minimum impact on the flora and fauna of the woodland. Hand tools are used where possible and a horse is used to do all the logging.
The timber that is removed for the good of the woodland ecology is used to make beautiful, individual hand made products.
